Aminta’s Homemade was founded by Aminatta Jagne, a passionate cook and cultural storyteller whose roots trace back to The Gambia and Senegal. Raised in a community where food was sacred, bold with flavor, and central to gathering, Aminatta learned early that cooking is more than nourishment. It is heritage, hospitality, and history on a plate.

After nearly 18 years working in the restaurant industry in Michigan, Aminatta developed a deep understanding of service, hospitality, and what makes people feel at home. When she moved to Murfreesboro, Tennessee in 2012, she explored other career paths, but her heart continually returned to the kitchen. What began as a love for gardening and preparing fresh, farm-to-table meals soon grew into something greater.

In 2021, recognizing the need for authentic West African cuisine in Murfreesboro, Aminta’s Homemade Homestead was born.

Every dish is a celebration of Senegambian tradition — layered spices, vibrant colors, and recipes passed down through generations. Ingredients are chosen with intention. Meals are prepared with care. And each plate tells a story of culture, resilience, and community.

At its core, Aminta’s Homemade Homestead is about connection. It is about honoring ancestry while welcoming new neighbors to the table. It is about building bridges across cultures through food. Most of all, it is about creating unforgettable moments — the kind that linger long after the last bite.

Welcome to the Aminta’s!
